Editorial Standards
Last Updated: September 1, 2026
Oyuncu Konseyi is an independent digital-media platform founded in the first quarter of 2021. Since then, it has continuously served Türkiye’s gaming and technology community. Built around the vision of a “Knowledge Library for Gamers,” the platform aims to reach players at every level through game guides, reviews, news, troubleshooting content, Turkish patches, and technology coverage.
This page explains Oyuncu Konseyi’s editorial processes, content-production standards, transparency principles, and commitments to readers in detail. Our goal is to ensure that every reader can clearly understand how content on the platform is produced, what quality controls it goes through, and which ethical principles guide our work.
Our Founding Principles and Mission
Since its founding, Oyuncu Konseyi has been built on three core principles: accuracy, transparency, and reader focus. These principles underpin every piece of content we publish and guide our editorial decisions.
Our mission is to open the doors to the vast world of gaming and serve as a reliable guide throughout that journey. To do this, we closely follow industry developments, identify the information players genuinely need, and present it in a clear, accurate, and accessible format.
Our goal is not simply to produce content, but to build a dedicated knowledge library that the Turkish gaming community can rely on. Every article we publish is prepared with the same care and standards.
Editorial Independence
Oyuncu Konseyi’s editorial structure is fully independent. All editorial decisions on the platform are made only by our editorial team. This includes the topics we cover, the scores given in reviews, and the methods recommended in guides.
This principle of independence is one of our core values and is not compromised:
- Our relationships with game publishers and developers cannot determine the direction, tone, or outcome of our content. A developer contacting us or providing press material does not guarantee a positive review.
- Advertisers and sponsors cannot interfere with our editorial processes. There is a clear separation between our advertising operations and editorial team. A brand advertising on Oyuncu Konseyi does not mean it will receive preferential treatment in editorial content.
- Business partnerships and commercial relationships do not shape our publishing policy. No cooperation or partnership agreement may include terms that restrict the editorial team’s independent decision-making.
The Oyuncu Konseyi editorial team works with the interests of readers and journalistic ethics in mind. Protecting this principle is fundamental to the platform’s credibility and long-term success.
Our Content Production Process
Every piece of content published on Oyuncu Konseyi passes through defined stages before reaching readers. This applies to news stories, in-depth reviews, and step-by-step guides. This process is designed to support the quality and accuracy of our work.
Topic Selection and Planning
Our editorial planning draws on several sources:
- Reader demand and feedback: Requests received through comments, social media, and email are considered an important part of planning. Understanding what readers most need help with is the first step toward producing useful content.
- Industry developments: We closely follow major gaming events, new-game announcements, important industry developments, and patch updates. Our editorial team identifies topics that are relevant to readers and meet a clear information need.
- Community needs: Frequently asked questions and recurring problems found in gaming forums, Reddit, voice-communication servers, and social media are important inputs. Helping players solve real problems and filling information gaps are among our priorities.
- Search data and trend analysis: We use data about what people search for, which games are trending, and where information gaps exist to support content planning.
Source Collection
Once a topic is selected, the writer begins a research process:
- Primary sources: Official developer websites, press releases, patch notes, developer diaries, and official social-media accounts are preferred. Obtaining information directly from its original source is a core principle.
- Secondary sources: Reports from reliable gaming publications, statements by industry analysts, and verified community feedback may be used as supporting sources. Information from secondary sources is cross-checked with at least one additional source whenever possible.
- First-hand experience: Particularly for reviews, guides, and troubleshooting content, our writers verify methods and information by trying them themselves. Before recommending a fix, we test it on our own systems; before explaining a game mechanic, we play and observe it directly.
Content Creation
After research is complete, the writing process begins:
- Content is written according to Oyuncu Konseyi’s language, tone, and formatting rules. Our style is professional but gamer-friendly. We avoid technical jargon whenever possible and explain it when it is necessary.
- Technical information such as system requirements, troubleshooting steps, setting changes, and installation instructions is supported with screenshots, step-by-step visuals, or video whenever practical. Our aim is to help readers apply a method without unnecessary ambiguity.
- Content is structured according to SEO principles, but search-engine optimization never takes priority over accuracy or quality. We write for the reader first and apply technical optimization afterward.
Editorial Quality Control
Every completed article goes through editorial review before publication:
- Factual accuracy: Information, dates, names, statistics, and technical details are compared with their sources. Unverified factual claims are not knowingly published.
- Language and writing: Turkish grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure are reviewed so that the content is fluent, clear, and professional.
- Source consistency: Sources are checked for freshness, accessibility, and reliability. Broken or outdated sources are identified and corrected.
- Reader experience: Heading structure, paragraph organization, visuals, and overall readability are evaluated so readers can reach the information they need quickly and easily.
- Neutrality: Content is reviewed to determine whether it unfairly favors or unfairly criticizes a brand, game, or product.
Post-Publication Monitoring and Updates
The process does not end when an article is published:
- Reader feedback is monitored regularly. Error reports, requests for additional information, and correction suggestions are taken seriously.
- Content freshness is reviewed periodically. Articles are updated when game patches, product updates, or industry changes make existing information outdated.
- When content is updated, the date and scope of the change are stated clearly where appropriate.
Source and Accuracy Standards
Providing reliable and accurate information is one of Oyuncu Konseyi’s primary responsibilities. We apply clear standards to support that responsibility.
Source Hierarchy
- Primary Sources (Highest Reliability): Official developer statements, official websites, press releases, patch notes, Steam/Epic/PlayStation/Xbox store pages, and official social-media accounts.
- Verified Secondary Sources: News and reports from established gaming-media outlets, publications by industry analysts, and academic research.
- Community Sources: Gaming forums, Reddit posts, voice-communication servers, and social-media posts. Information from these sources is not treated as established fact until it is confirmed by at least one primary or verified secondary source.
Accuracy Principles
- Unverified information is labeled: News, rumors, or leaks that have not yet been officially confirmed are marked with language such as “according to a rumor,” “not yet officially confirmed,” “according to unofficial sources,” or “according to the claim.” Readers should be able to understand the level of certainty attached to information.
- Statistics and numerical data include sources: Sources are provided for player counts, sales figures, market-size data, and similar statistics. Figures with unclear or unverifiable origins are not used.
- Quotations are presented accurately and in context: Developer statements, interview quotes, and official comments are not intentionally removed from their original context. When translation is required, the original text is referenced whenever practical.
- Guides and fixes are tested first-hand: Troubleshooting methods, performance-improvement steps, and Turkish-patch installations are tested by our team. An untested solution is presented with a note such as “recommended by the community; our team has not yet verified it.”
- Speculation is separated clearly: Commentary, analysis, and predictions are separated from news and factual information so readers can distinguish fact from the writer’s interpretation.
Corrections and Updates Policy
Oyuncu Konseyi recognizes that mistakes can happen. What matters is identifying them quickly, correcting them transparently, and keeping readers informed. Our correction policy has four levels:
Level 1: Minor Corrections
Spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, formatting problems, broken links, and other minor issues that do not affect factual accuracy may be corrected without a separate notice.
Level 2: Factual Corrections
When a factual error such as an incorrect date, wrong system requirement, inaccurate price, or incorrect character or feature name is identified:
- The incorrect information and the correct information are stated clearly where appropriate.
- The correction is made as soon as reasonably possible after the error is identified.
Level 3: Major Updates
When substantial changes are needed, for example after game patches change mechanics, system requirements are updated, prices change, or a guide becomes significantly outdated:
- The affected sections are rewritten to provide current information.
- Where useful, the previous information is retained for reference and the reason for the change is explained.
Level 4: Retraction
Content that is fundamentally based on information that is entirely incorrect, misleading, or no longer valid and cannot reasonably be corrected through an update may be removed from publication.
Our Neutrality Principle
Every news story, review, guide, list, and other content type published on Oyuncu Konseyi is prepared in line with the platform’s neutrality principle. Every member of our editorial team is expected to apply this principle consistently.
We protect neutrality in practical ways:
- Personal bias toward a game or product should not determine a review. Writers are expected to evaluate games outside their preferred platforms or genres with the same professional standards.
- When news involves a dispute or disagreement, we seek to include the relevant parties’ positions in a balanced manner where available.
- No game publisher, developer, or platform receives different editorial treatment because of its size or commercial status. A major AAA release and a game from an independent developer are evaluated under the same editorial standards.
Writer Standards and Team
Every writer producing content for Oyuncu Konseyi is expected to meet and maintain specific standards.
Writer Acceptance Criteria
- Writers are expected to have active gaming experience in the subjects they cover. First-hand experience with a game is a core expectation when writing about that game.
- Writers must have a strong command of Turkish spelling and grammar.
- Writers must accept Oyuncu Konseyi’s editorial principles, style rules, and ethical standards.
- Potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed in advance.
Editorial Oversight
- No writer may bypass editorial review and publish uncontrolled content directly. This rule applies regardless of seniority or position.
- Writers are individually responsible for the content they publish and should be accountable for the accuracy of the information they provide.

Advertising / Partnership Transparency
Transparency is essential in every partnership and commercial relationship Oyuncu Konseyi conducts with brands and organizations. Readers must be able to distinguish commercial content from editorial content clearly.
Sponsored Content Policy
- Content created through cooperation with a brand or organization is clearly labeled at the beginning as “Sponsored Content” or “Prepared in Partnership.” The label is not intentionally hidden or minimized.
- Sponsored content is accepted only for subjects and brands that we believe can provide value to readers. Sponsorship proposals that conflict with our editorial standards are rejected.
- The existence of sponsored content does not influence the tone, direction, or outcome of independent editorial coverage of the same subject.
Affiliate Links
- When affiliate links are used, this is disclosed at the beginning of the relevant article or in the section containing the links.
- The existence of affiliate links does not determine our product or service recommendations. We recommend products because we believe they are suitable, not solely to generate affiliate revenue.
Advertising Placements
- Advertising areas are visually separated from editorial content in the site design.
- Advertisements are not intentionally positioned to appear as editorial content and are labeled as advertising or sponsored where applicable.

Artificial Intelligence Use Policy
We recognize the impact of artificial-intelligence technology on content production and follow a transparent policy:
- AI tools may be used as assistive tools during research and drafting. AI does not replace a writer; human editors remain the decision-makers and final approvers.
- No content generated or assisted by AI is published without editorial review and human verification. AI outputs are reviewed by an editor for factual accuracy, tone, and source reliability.
- AI-assisted content is labeled when appropriate in line with our transparency principle.
- Factual information is verified against primary sources. Information generated by AI is not accepted blindly.
- If AI-generated images are used, the use of AI is disclosed.
Copyright and Image Use Policy
Oyuncu Konseyi respects intellectual-property rights and aims to comply with copyright law across its content:
- Game artwork, screenshots, and videos are used for reporting, criticism, and review under applicable fair-use/fair-dealing principles where relevant. Copyright in those materials belongs to the relevant game developers and publishers.
- The source of images is stated whenever reasonably possible. Images taken from official press kits, store pages, or publicly available developer materials are used with source attribution where appropriate.
